THIS JUST IN: EU follows US lead and takes a huge step back on EV’s

The European Union is rethinking its landmark plan to ban new petrol(gas) and diesel cars by 2035, signaling a major shift in its climate and industrial strategy. Instead of a full phaseout, the European Commission is proposing a 90% cut in vehicle CO₂ emissions, allowing some low-emission combustion and hybrid cars to remain on the market.

The move follows strong pressure from OEMs and countries like Germany and Italy, which argue the industry needs flexibility on emissions to stay competitive among rising competition from China and the United States.

This news arrives only a few weeks after President Trump announced his ‘reset’ of US emissions and efficiency standards - certainly without coincidence.
